EYELINER TREATMENTS

Eyeliners come in all shapes, sizes and colours! There are lots of beautiful creative options for eyeliners from the classic and most natural looking, lash enhancement eyeliner (also referred to as an invisible eyeliner) right up to big and bold sculpted, smokey or eyeshadow effect eyeliners (ombre eyeliner).

EYELINER MYTH - Eyeliner makes small eyes appear even smaller.

When eyeliner is correctly applied, there is actually a style to enhance all eye shapes. It's all in the artistry of application. During your consultation we will discuss what look you want to achieve and I will assess your eye shape in order to ensure that you achieve the best result. As with all treatments at Flawless by Danielle, I carry out an initial artistry of the eyeliner so you can be sure you are happy with the shape and colouring of the eyeliner before the treatment begins. I stock the full range of industry award winning KB Pro eyeliner pigments. All prices include the choice of the full pigment range. Not sure if you want to go with a bottom liner? A popular choice is to go with a softer colour which complements the eye colour on the bottom liner. It really makes the eyes pop and can be soft and subtle or striking and bold. Pigment choices are both discussed and swatched where guidance is needed. All prices also include a complimentary perfecting retouch appointment which most clients will need approx. 6-10 weeks after the initial treatment.

PERMANENT LASH ENHANCEMENT

I love this timeless treatment! A lash enhancement creates perfectly defined and wide awake eyes. It is super natural looking. It will subtly enhance your lash line creating the illusion of thicker darker lashes without looking like you are wearing an obvious eyeliner. I create the look by implanting pigment along the lash line and taper very slightly outside the lash line where required. As with my brow treatments, during the consultation I will create your desired look using a pencil and use my professional artistry skills to create the most flattering shape for your eyes. I offer a variety of pigment colours to tailor your look. All black? No problem. Want to make your eyes pop with a complementary lower lash line colour? This can also be achieved. Check out my lash enhancement blog for more details on how to achieve the perfect lash enhancement look for you.

SCULPTED EYELINERS

Sculpted eyeliners come in different sizes and shapes all of which will be discussed and decided during you consultation. The key characteristics are that the lines are clean and crisp and normally come with either a flick, wedge or wing. There are so many options to choose from, I always recommend that clients show me examples of the types of shape and thickness you have in mind.
The sculpted eyeliner is perfect for those who want a clean finish and a bolder look than what can be achieved with a lash line enhancement. See the latest examples of my work here

The treatment process explained

CONSULTATION

During the consultation I will explore your reasons for wanting the treatment, how you wear your current eye makeup and the desired look you want to achieve. I will address your eye shape, size and colouring to create the most suitable style and pigment choice. I create your lash enhancement shape initially with a pencil working very closely with you throughout the process. I will not start the treatment until you are completely satisfied with the shape. I will also swatch different pigment options so you can visualise the colour of the end result and ensure the appropriate pigment blend is selected to create the look you want to achieve for both the top and bottom liner.

TREATMENT

Depending on your chosen style and application the treatment itself will take approximately 60 mins to complete. I will make you feel completely at ease and comfortable throughout the procedure and will take you through the aftercare requirements directly after the treatment but will also share this information at the time of booking so you know what to expect.

PERFECTING RETOUCH

All clients will require at least one perfecting retouch appointment. Ideally 6 weeks after your initial appointment but this can be anywhere from 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. The retouch is required to apply additional pigment to the lash line. This is due to the fact that as the skin heals certain ares may not retain the pigment as well as others. This is all completely normal and varies from one skin type to another. Your retouch appointment will be booked in for one hour.

YOUR QUESTIONS: ANSWERED

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Does it hurt?

You should not feel any pain during the treatment. My clients normally describe the sensation as like a soft electric toothbrush. You may experience a small amount of swelling and soreness after the treatment but this should subside very quickly. I will also make you completely at ease from start to finish.

Does it matter if my eyes are sensitive or if they flicker?

No, I am used to dealing with all types of eye mannerisms including watering a flickering eyes. I will keep you safe, comfortable and in position throughout.

Will it look natural?

Yes, the healed results will look very natural. To everyone else your eyes will look more wide awake, your lashes will appear thicker and fuller but unlike other eyeliner treatments, you will not look like you are wearing obvious heavy makeup.
As with other permanent makeup treatments, the colour intensity will be approximately 30-50% darker immediately after the treatment.

How long does the treatment last?

The treatment will last a minimum of 18- 36 months and the longevity of your permanent makeup is dependent upon a number of factors. The key ones being; aftercare and certain medications taken either at the time or after the treatment. I recommend a colour boost appt 12-18 months after your first treatment is fully completed to keep your permanent makeup looking fresh. See my services pages for more details including costs for colour boosts.

Is a permanent brow treatment for me?

A permanent lash enhancement treatment can suit anyone who wants more defined and wide awake eyes but does not want to wake up looking like they are wearing an obvious eyeliner.
It’s a great treatment for those whose lashes have lost their fullness with age or those with gappy or fair lashes. Creating the illusion of thicker lashes intern creates more naturally beautiful looking eyes as full lashes are synonymous with beauty and youthfulness.

BEFORE AND DURING THE TREATMENT

Is there anything I should avoid doing leading up to my treatment?

⚫ Sunshine holidays should be no closer than 2 weeks prior to or post your permanent makeup treatment as the sun damage to your skin retention and the sun exposure will be additional trauma to the skin

⚫ Unless prescribed you should not take any ibrupofren or aspirin 24 hours prior to your appt as this thins the blood. If this is a prescribed medicine be sure to make your artist aware in good time before your booked appt.

⚫ Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to your appt.

⚫ Avoid highly caffeinated drinks on the morning of your procedure

What does the treatment involve?

See the services section where I have outlined the details of the three key Stages of your treatment - Consultation, the treatment and the perfecting retouch appointment. The treatment itself will normally take approximately 60 minutes to complete. I then take you through the aftercare before booking you in for your perfecting retouch appointment.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

Can I wear makeup after the treatment?

You will need to wait at least three days before wearing any mascara or other makeup in the eye area. When you do you will need to use a fresh mascara. My recommendation is to treat the area like you would a wound to prevent any risk of infection. It is definitely worth a few days without makeup to help ensure the healed results are nothing short of fabulous!

How long does it take to heal and what do I need to do differently during this time?

You need to ensure that any tinting or perming is carried out no sooner than one week prior to your permanent lash enhancement treatment. You will also need to leave any further tinting or perming of the lashes to at least two weeks post your treatment. If you wear false lashes, these cannot be applied until at least two weeks after the treatment has been completed.

Will my eyes be swollen and for how long?

You may experience some minor swelling and some soreness of the eye lids after the treatment. I bathe the eyes immediately after the treatment which helps subside any soreness and swelling and any remaining swelling you can usually expect to subside within 24 hours. I do recommend that you do not drive immediately after the appointment.
