HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR PERMANENT MAKEUP TREATMENT

WHY FACE SHAPES MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR PERFECT BROW DESIGN

Different permanent makeup brow styles

WHAT IS AN OMBRE BROW?

Many of us are now familiar with the term microblading. (If you're not then take a look at one of my earlier blogs where I explain the difference between microblading and machine permanent makeup brow treatments). A big trend in permanent make up right now is the ombre brow.

So what is an Ombre brow exactly - and is it right for me?

The definition of ombre is having colours or tones that shade into one another and is actually a French term meaning 'shaded'. In the permanent makeup world an ombre brow is created using a low frequency machine operated needle designed specifically for permanent cosmetics. Pigment is gently implanted into the skin using various shading and or pigment diluting techniques in order to create a soft graduated shaded effect to the brow. This light and shade effect is applied to add increased colour depth and density to areas of the brow where, in a perfect brow, you would expect the most amount of brow hair density to be. The colour and intensity softens to those areas of the brow such as the bulbs (section closest to the nose) and tops of the body of the brow. Giving a diffused look to the edges of the brow. The result is a beautiful soft powdered effect.

Does it Look Natural?

Our individual ideas as to what constitutes a 'natural' looking brow can vary massively from one person to the next. An ombre brow is a fantastic option for someone who really does want to throw away that brow pencil and is expecting their brow treatment to leave them with a beautiful brow shape which looks as though makeup has been freshly and expertly applied. The healed result looks very natural to soft powdered makeup having been applied to the brows. That being said it is a more made up look compared with the microbladed brow which is perfect for those who want a more subtle enhancement to the existing brow shape. A combination of hair strokes and shading can provide subtly different looks again. This is why as part of all of my consultations at Flawlessbydanielle, I take the time to closely explore what it is you are ultimately looking to achieve and what it is about your brows as they are that you are wanting to fix from having a permanent brow treatment. I will consider your personal style, skin type and tone and how you currently wear your brow makeup (if any) in order for me to make my professional recommendation.

Does it Hurt?

I can speak from both my experience as a technician and as a client as I have had both microblading and more recently an ombre brow. I felt perfectly comfortable throughout both treatments. I would go as far as to say it was painless until towards the very end of the treatment where my brows felt tender and slightly bruised. My ombre brows did take slightly longer to heal (by like a couple of days) and I felt I needed slightly more healing balm for my ombre brows to prevent them from tightening up whilst they were healing. Having said that I even felt confident enough to go out and promote my business a week into the healing process with my ombre brows, as unless you looked very closely the scabbing was still virtually undetectable.

Microblading Versus Ombre Brows - My Personal Account

For me personally, an ombre brow was the perfect solution to my brow woes. I have very over plucked brows which lack any real brow density and my natural brow hairs are also lighter than my actual hair. Day to day, I do not wear a great deal of makeup, however, I do like my brows to be a stand out feature (please do not confuse this with crazy big slug brows, because that really is not the look I go for whatsoever!). I genuinely feel that when my brows are looking on point I can leave the house for the school run or other errands without the need for any other makeup as they open up my eyes so much. Before ombre brows I just couldn't and just wouldn't but that's to do with my personal brow hang ups.

You and your brow woes may be completely different. In order to get the best treatment for you, think about what it is you are ultimately wanting to achieve from you brow treatment and make sure you discuss this with your technician during your detailed consultation.

If you are interested in an ombre brow or one of my other brow treatments get in touch using either my online booking form which you can access directly through my website www.flawlessbydanielle.co.uk or give me a call on tel: 07716 575 752 and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
